    Core Educational Beliefs:
My teaching philosophy is that all students, regardlesss of their strengths and needs, are capable of learning, and of achieving success! Keeping that in mind, I continuously strive to find a balance between meeting my students at the levels at which they are currently functioning, and challenging them to make progress and meet their goals. I endeavor to create and maintain a positive, encouraging learning environment in which my students feel comfortable and confident, and are truly engaged in the learning process. A belief of mine that guides my teaching is that all students should be respected for the unique individuals they are, and that all students deserve an individualized education that will encourage them to reach their full potential. I also place a strong emphasis on helping my students learn life skills, so that all of them are able to be as independent as possible, to take the skills they have acquired and demonstrate them in a variety of settings, and to contribute to their communities in a positive way.
