Welcome!

I am very happy to have the opportunity to work with your student this year.

I am a native Tucsonan. My early educational days were spent within the Flowing Wells school district. I received both my Bachelor of Arts in English Education and Master of Arts in Language, Reading, and Culture from the University of Arizona. Go CATS! I hold teaching certifications, and endorsements for English/Language Arts, as a Reading Specialist, and as a Gifted Specialist.

I enjoy working with young adults and helping them to become better students. I am very passionate about education and its importance for a successful life beyond the school system. I hope that I can create a spark in your student and help them to become lifelong Master Students and learners. I also hope to give students the tools to help them be successful in their future endeavors.

The quickest way to contact me is via email at rslattery@amphi.com. You may also contact me at Ironwood Ridge High School; (520) 407-4185.

Core Educational Beliefs:

As an educator, I believe that all students have an innate desire to learn, each possesses unique strengths, talents, and needs that should be recognized and nurtured in ways that empowers them so that they may become successful, productive, contributing members of a global citizenry.

Some history about me . . .

This is my 16th year with the Amphitheater school district; and this is my 29th year of teaching. My partnership with the Amphitheater school district began in 2004, when I was hired as a Middle School reading and writing teacher at Coronado K-8 school.

Prior to my employment within the Amphi school district, I was an English / Language Arts / Newspaper-Journalism educator at Casa Grande Union High School where I taught sophomores and seniors for 10 years. During that same time period, I also worked as an Adjunct Professor for Composition 101 and 102 at Central Arizona College.
