Defining Moment in Education
During high school, I was inspired by several teachers to pursue a career in public education. Two teachers that I specifically remember, Mrs. Harrow and Mr. Bell, motivated me to become an educator. Mrs. Harrow was a physical education teacher and head volleyball coach who took time to help me grow as an individual and as an athlete. Mr. Bell was a special education teacher and head track coach. He was the kindest teacher and he loved working with young people to help them reach their fullest potential, both in the classroom and on the field.
I respected and admired these educators for their commitment in teaching young people to become productive and strong individuals. Having experienced firsthand the positive impact a teacher can have on the lives of others, I decided on a career in education.
