This is a 1 credit, 2 semester course with a curriculum covering the history of the United States and Arizona from 1400s to present. We will study colonization and settlement of the New World, revolution and the new nation, expansion and reform, the civil war and reconconstrution, the development of the industrial United States, the emergence of Modern America, the Great Depression, the postwar United States and the contemporary United States.
Course Objectives
This course will address the Arizona State Standards for history. Students will analyze the human experience through time, recognize the relationships of events and people and interpret significant patterns, themes, ideas, beliefs, and turning points in Arizona and American History.
