Program Mission: We will develop software programs and apps for personal and professional purposes.
Students Will Experience:
- Create exciting games and apps while learning powerful programming languages such as Javascript, XHTML, CSS, Java, Python, and programmable integrated circuits
- Learn internet fundamentals, network systems, digital security, web design, algorithm design principles, integrated circuit design, and techniques for collecting and manipulating big data
- Explore the impact of technology on your local community and the global landscape by investigating new technological innovations, privacy and security concerns with digital data, and how we can use and develop technology to our benefit.
- Gain an overview of the skills needed to become technologically and computer literate, allowing you to specialize in a program of study that can lead to in-demand careers at Microsoft, Apple, or Google.
Career Focus:
Students will be prepared for immediate employment in entry-level positions in the software development industry and to continue to study software development at a technical, two-year, or four-year college or university. Students may acquire industry certifications during the program. Career examples include Computer Programmer, Software Developer, Computer Hardware Engineer, Computer Network Architect, Database Administrator, and Information Security Analyst.
