    Enrollment Process:

    Acceptance to the program occurs after completed applications are turned in/submitted, and successfully passing a formal interview.

    Being an intern requires full participation in 9 week pre-placement training workshops with no more than three unexcused absences. No placement will occur if all assignments are not successfully completed. Students will be dropped if the minimum requirements described here are not met.

    CTE INTERNSHIPS

    The CTE Internship provides CTE students a powerful opportunity to engage in authentic learning by participating in a structured work experience that applies previously developed CTE knowledge and skills.

    This course is only for CTE completers that are Juniors or Seniors, are at least 16 years old, and requires Internship Coordinator permission. 1 Credit-for at least 180 hours of work experience.

    CTE Internships: Overseen by the Program Coordinator: Mentoring, completion of a formal training plan, logs and performance evaluation.

    • Skills and certification are matched to placement.
    • On campus, in district or out-of-district placement.
    • May be paid or unpaid.
    • May lead to full time work and college scholarships.

    PREREQUISITES:

    CTE CAREER CLUSTER COMPLETER THAT HAS SUCCESSFULLY PASSED THE STATE ASSESSMENT.

    JUNIOR/SENIOR AT LEAST 16 YEARS OLD, MINIMUM 2.5 GPA. MAY NOT HAVE A DEFICIENCY IN ANY CORE ACADEMIC CLASS.

    If Met:

    STUDENTS WILL BE INVITED TO APPLY, AND ATTEND A PLACEMENT INTERVIEW. 

     

    CAREER INTERNSHIPS

     Depth

     

    Career Internships provide students a powerful opportunity to engage in authentic learning by sampling targeted work experience that applies previous academic and volunteer knowledge and skills through Job Shadowing and Practicum experiences.

    Career Internships: Overseen by the Program Coordinator: Mentoring, completion of a formal training plan, logs and performance evaluation.

    PREREQUISITES:

    JUNIOR/SENIOR, AT LEAST 16 YEARS OLD, REQUIRES INTERNSHIP COORDINATOR PERMISSION. MINIMUM 2.5 GPA. MAY NOT HAVE A DEFICIENCY IN ANY CORE ACADEMIC CLASS.

    If Met:

    STUDENTS WILL BE INVITED TO APPLY, AND ATTEND A PLACEMENT INTERVIEW. 

    Job Shadowing and Practicum can offer 1 Credit-for at least 180 hours of work experience.

    Overseen by the Program Coordinator: Mentoring, completion of a formal training plan, logs and performance evaluations:

    • Students fully research fields of interest that aligns with their experience.
    • Students find their own opportunities.
    • On campus, in district or out-of-district placement.
    • May lead to full time work and college scholarships.
    • May be paid or unpaid.

     May be monitored by a classroom teacher.
